The Director of Quality Assurance will provide strategy, leadership and guidance to a large team of Quality Assurance Analysts responsible for the analysis, configuration, estimation, testing and implementation for assigned applications. Currently, the quality assurance team consists of 15+ Quality Assurance Analysts in a matrix-style quality assurance embedded agile scrum model including both in-office and remote team members. This position requires a process driven approach to enforce quality standards, process and goals. The Director of Quality Assurance will support multiple applications with varying users, technologies and complexities.


The Director of Quality Assurance will ensure the stability, reliability and performance of the applications for which they provide support by having a thorough understanding of the application, the clinical and operational workflow, integration points and technical components. In order to be successful in this position, the Director of Quality Assurance will need to be hands-on and actively participate in quality assurance activities when needed.


In this role, you will:

  • • Manage, recruit, hire, mentor, and coach quality assurance analysts at different levels of experience
  • • Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • • Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout the product life cycle
  • • Identify gaps and drive improvements in processes, products and overall customer experiences
  • • Drive engineering best practices and tooling to boost overall productivity
  • • Represent team internally and drive initiatives cross-functionally
  • • Represent team externally with large enterprise customers when difficult escalations occur
  • • Create and monitor project schedules including resource requirements as related to quality assurance analysts
  • • Define and track project budgets to ensure that the department meets its financial objectives and business strategy
  • • Influence other departments on issues relating to the team
  • • Develop, acquire and deploy methods and standards to manage the quality assurance process
  • • Develop appropriate metrics and processes for the team and monitor performance against those metrics
  • • Contribute as a Quality Assurance team member as required
  • • Other projects and tasks as assigned



The ideal candidate will have:

  • • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • • 10+ years of industry quality assurance experience
  • • 5+ years mentoring, leading and directly managing a quality assurance team, including remote team members
  • • 3+ years of hands-on testing with automation
  • • Relevant Industry certifications, such as Software Tester Certification—Foundation Level from ISTQB®
  • • Experience transforming an ad-hoc testing environment to one that is consistent and accurate while also being pragmatic
  • • Extensive knowledge and understanding of quality assurance testing lifecycle management and upgrade practices
  • • Experience with automated testing approaches and knowledge of when it is best applied
  • • Experience in a multi-team scrum-based environment with embedded quality assurance in a matrix management style
  • • Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to hire and grow talented team members
  • • Strong project management skills as demonstrated by leading medium or large projects using JIRA
  • • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people including difficult customers
  • • Proven ability to multi-task and set priorities on numerous competing initiatives of varying complexity
  • • Previous experience in home health care or health care environment is a plus
  • • Experience with SQL database applications (MS SQL Server), including ability to write moderately complicated queries
  • • Experience in any or all of the following types of applications: Client/Server Applications, Web-Based Applications, Android, iOS, Business Intelligence Tools, ETL, Integrated Platforms
