Term: 6-month contract with possibility of conversion to full-time

Summary

 

As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you are responsible for defining and creating standard canned and custom reports for our customers by translating sometimes vague user requirements into precise software specifications and canned reports in the JReport BI platform. This position works closely with the software development staff, including the Product Owner, Software Developers, QA Analysts and Technical Writers as well as working directly with internal and external customers. You will:

  •  - Analyze reporting requirements of multiple customers and interpret into generic product requirements for standard canned reports that can be used across the entire customer base.
  •  - Create standard canned reports using the JReport BI platform from generic product requirements created by yourself or others on the team.
  •  - Influence without authority to help the product owners and product managers shape multiple product roadmaps for reporting features.

 

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  •  - 6+ years of experience as a Report Writer or Business Analyst with a focus on Reporting
  •  - Experience with BI frameworks such as JReport or Tableau
  •  - Experience with healthcare software applications or other similar enterprise software
  •  - Ability to create report and dashboard specifications according to an established standard, and to evolve the standard as needed
  •  - Ability to explain the specifications to non-technical internal and customer personnel
  •  - Ability to elicit requirements from non-technical personnel
  •  - Ability to learn both the front-end application and how its backend is realized in order to explain how data is stored and therefore how it can be retrieved
  •  - Ability to write and understand SQL against a complex schema
  •  - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tell good design from bad
