The Billing Support Specialist II responds to escalated customer inquiries from the Customer Support Organization. This position is responsible for researching escalated inquiries, utilizing the core structures and foundations of software development and maintenance to provide a successful resolution. The most successful candidate will encompass the ability to handle break/fix, configuration issues, troubleshooting, and software installations. The Billing Support Specialist II will answer questions regarding the use of the product and maps from internal customers to support business processes for home healthcare, hospice, private duty and staffing agencies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • • Assist staff and customers in the use of Suncoast Solutions software through verbal and electronic communication
  • • Providing healthcare billing support in a functional specialist role in a Service Desk and training capacity
  • • Responsible for database administration, data center, and other infrastructure issues.
  • • Go-to person for resolving difficult issues efficiently and timely
  • • Research and answer complex questions from internal customer’s regarding software(s)
  • • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • • Liaison between Level 1 and Level 3 Support
  • • Responsible for managing Level 2 queue of escalated inquiries
  • • Assists the Support Leads with other tasks as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The Billing Support Specialist II will have:

  • • The ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them correctly
  • • Strong analytical skills and reasoning ability, with proficiency at solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • • The adaptive capacity to maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with different tasks, responsibilities, andpeople
  • • Familiarity with SaaS softwareconcepts
  • • Technical understanding of interfaces, extracts, andsupport
  • • Excellent customer service focus and communicationskills
  • • A “team player” attitude, with active participation in team effectivenessefforts



  • • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College orUniversity
  • • 5+ years Hospice Care Billing Experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • • Palliative Billing Experience (Part B) and/or Home Health Billing Experience aPlus
  • • EMR Softwareexperience
  • • Knowledge of CMS regulations for hospice, home health and palliativecare
  • • Previous support deskexperience
  • • UAT Knowledge (will providetraining)
  • • Proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite ofproducts
